Baseball Recap: Newport Takes a Loss

Newport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 7-2 to the Fall Mountain Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 two weeks ago.

Newport's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Fall Mountain, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newport will welcome Hinsdale at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fall Mountain, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Conant at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
