The Millikan Rams will be taking part in a tournament against the JSerra Catholic Lions at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Millikan will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
JSerra Catholic's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Millikan hadn't allowed a single run the last six times they've hit the field. The Rams' pitcher stepped up to hand Mission Viejo a 9-0 shutout on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won five contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Kayla Cisneros, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Zimmerman, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
Cisneros wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Millikan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Rams are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, JSerra Catholic came into Wednesday's matchup having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Huntington Beach by a score of 3-0 on Wednesday.
Not much got past Liliana Escobar, who gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Huntington Beach off the board. Escobar has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, JSerra Catholic saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allie Haupt, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Melia Munoz was another, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Millikan's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for JSerra Catholic, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
JSerra Catholic's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Millikan has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. It's a different story for JSerra Catholic, though, as they've only averaged .302. Will they be able to contain Millikan's hitters?
Millikan came out on top in a nail-biter against JSerra Catholic in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
