Basketball Recap: St. Laurence Takes a Loss

St. Laurence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 59-54 heartbreaker at the hands of the Mother McAuley Mighty Macs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-48 last Monday.

Mother McAuley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quinn Arundel led the charge by going 7 of 17 on her way to 20 points and four steals. Arundel has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Delia Sullivan, who posted 19 points.

St. Laurence's loss dropped their record down to 9-18. As for Mother McAuley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-10.

St. Laurence wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 51-18 victory against Rosary on the 4th. Mother McAuley has also already played their next game, a 72-44 defeat against Loyola Academy on the 4th.
