Softball Recap: Benjamin Franklin Find Success

Benjamin Franklin saw some tournament action on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the St. Michael Cardinals, sneaking past 7-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Jaelyn Castaneda was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Madison Sigourney, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Benjamin Franklin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .520 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Benjamin Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for St. Michael, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Benjamin Franklin will challenge Payson at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Benjamin Franklin: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Payson has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road. As for St. Michael, they will host Valley at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
