Softball Recap: Colorado Finds Playoff Glory Versus Ozona

It's playoff time, and Colorado had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Ozona Lions get on the board and left with a 20-0 victory on Thursday. Considering the Wolves have won 18 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Mia Obenhaus was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Obenhaus was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bryanna Munoz, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Aj Goodney was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Colorado was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are a perfect 17-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win was the fifth in a row for Colorado, bringing their record up to 22-7-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Ozona, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10-1 record this season.

As of now, neither Colorado nor Ozona have any future games scheduled.
