Flag Football Recap: Cherokee Trail Comes Up Short

Cherokee Trail extended their losing streak to five on Saturday, dropping them down to 2-7. They took a blow against the Grandview Wolves, falling 53-0. The Cougars lost against the Wolves in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 37-6 score last time.

Madison Adkins threw for 65 yards on eight of 14 attempts.

As for Grandview, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-3. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.0 points over those games.

Grandview got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brooke Sullivan out in front who threw for 167 yards and four touchdowns, and also picked up 51 receiving yards and one score. Sullivan also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making two total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception. Abby Kirkpatrick also helped with three TDs in total.

Cherokee Trail wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 34-13 loss against Columbine on the 22nd. As for Grandview, they have also already played their next contest, a 32-12 victory against Arapahoe on the 27th.
