Basketball Recap: Superior Comes Up Short

Superior was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 42-17 to the Patagonia Lobos. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 47-18 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Superior lost, don't look at Lilianna Fritz. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 boards. Fritz is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.

Patagonia's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emma Lewton, who posted 16 points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Brianna Majalca, who put up five points in addition to nine rebounds and five steals.

Superior's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Patagonia, they moved to 2-11 with that win, which also ended their ten-game losing streak.

Superior has already played their next game, a 40-18 loss against Cicero Prep Academy on the 13th. As for Patagonia, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-35 defeat against Baboquivari on the 17th.
