Samson proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 11) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past McKenzie 10-9. With that win, Samson brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

The victory (which was Samson's third in a row) raised their record to 5-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for McKenzie, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-8.

Samson will have a chance to go back-to-back against McKenzie: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
