Baseball Game Preview: Northwestern Regional Highlanders vs. Canton Warriors

The Northwestern Regional Highlanders will face off against the Canton Warriors at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Northwestern Regional and Wolcott RVT, and Wolcott RVT kept the tradition alive. The Highlanders lost 8-2 to the Wildcats on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Canton's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They came up short against Rockville, falling 11-1.

Canton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Ahlgren, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double. That double marked the first that Ahlgren has hit this season.

Canton's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Northwestern Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.

Northwestern Regional came out on top in a nail-biter against Canton when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 3-1. Will the Highlanders repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
