Basketball Recap: Konos Academy Takes a Loss

Konos Academy lost against Creekside Christian Academy back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Condor took a blow against the Cougars, falling 96-32. The Condor were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-17.

Despite the loss, Konos Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gaines Casey posted 15 points and six rebounds. Casey continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

Creekside Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daylen Williams, who went 7-for-11 en route to 24 points along with six boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Williams a new career-high in shooting accuracy (64%). Jayden Ringer was another key player, shooting 64% from the field to rack up 20 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Konos Academy and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Konos Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 84-43 defeat against New Creation Christian Academy on the 7th. As for Creekside Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 91-49 victory against Chestatee on the 8th.
