Softball Preview: Huntingtown Hurricanes vs. North Point Eagles        
        
		
            Huntingtown has gone  a perfect 10-0 against North Point recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Tuesday. The Hurricanes will challenge the Eagles at 4:30  p.m. Huntingtown is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.4  runs per game  this season.
North Point will  challenge  a team with plenty of momentum: Huntingtown extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday. The Hurricanes never let Patuxent get on the board and left with  a   16-0  win. Considering the Hurricanes have won eight contests by more than eight  runs this season, Wednesday's  blowout was nothing new.

 Jordyn Greever made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  allowing only  one  hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with one  triple and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Madalee Hunley, who  went 3-for-4 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base.  Morgan Cranford was another key player,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.
 Huntingtown was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Patuxent only posted a  batting average of  .059.
 Meanwhile, North Point fell victim to Calvert and their airtight pitching crew  last Friday. They lost  17-0 to the Cavaliers. The  defeat   continues a  trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Cavaliers: they've now lost seven in a row.
 Huntingtown's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for North Point, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
 Huntingtown was able to grind out a solid  win over North Point in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024, winning  5-1. Will the Hurricanes repeat their success,  or do  the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
