Baseball Game Preview: St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs vs. Redwood Christian Eagles

The St. Vincent de Paul Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the Redwood Christian Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

St. Vincent de Paul took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Credo, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. St. Vincent de Paul skirted past Credo 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since April 17, 2024.

Carson Landies was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Omar Mughannam was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Redwood Christian ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Hayward 5-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

The team relied heavily on Cooper Fanucchi, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Travis Dong, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4.

Redwood Christian's record is now 2-0. As for St. Vincent de Paul, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
