Baseball Recap: Payson Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Provo, Payson was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They skirted past the Mountain Crest Mustangs 5-4. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Lions as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Ty Marvin, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Payson: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-15 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Bosten Roseman, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Payson's record is now 9-16. As for Mountain Crest, they moved to 14-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Payson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mountain Crest, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ridgeline at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Riverhawks will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight.
