Basketball Game Preview: East Duplin Panthers vs. Southwest Onslow Stallions

The East Duplin Panthers will head out to take on the Southwest Onslow Stallions at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

East Duplin will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Wallace-Rose Hill, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. East Duplin managed a 66-62 victory over Wallace-Rose Hill on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Southwest Onslow waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took down the Tigers 81-62. Given the Stallions' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Tigers are ranked 343rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southwest Onslow's win bumped their record up to 18-3. As for East Duplin, their victory bumped their record up to 11-9.

East Duplin was dealt a bruising 80-51 loss at the hands of Southwest Onslow in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can East Duplin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
