Soccer Recap: Minooka Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Naperville Central, Minooka was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Geneva Vikings. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Minooka's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while Geneva are ranked 114th).

Minooka's win bumped their record up to 8-2-2. As for Geneva, they now have a losing record of 4-5-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Minooka will venture away from home to take on Plainfield East at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Geneva, they will be taking part in a tournament against Naperville Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Geneva will need to watch out since Naperville Central have now posted at least four goals in their last three matches.
