Basketball Recap: La Lumiere Blue Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

The third road game was the charm for La Lumiere Blue, as they earned their first road win of the season. They came out on top against the Victory Christian Academy Lions by a score of 65-55 on Saturday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Lakers also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2024.

Victory Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Whitaker, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 19 points and five boards. The contest was Whitaker's 12th in a row with at least ten points. Carter Herrold was another key player, going 7 for 10 en route to 15 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds.

La Lumiere Blue's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2. As for Victory Christian Academy, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-3.

La Lumiere Blue will have a chance to go back-to-back against Victory Christian Academy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
