Recap: Brackett Tigers vs. Pettus Eagles
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Brackett Tigers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Pettus on the road to the tune of 66-0. Considering Brackett has won eight contests by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Kontagious Cook went supernova for Brackett, rushing for 288 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries. Cook really tore up the turf during one magnificent 93-yard run. Marques Hernandez was another key contributor, rushing for six yards and two touchdowns.
The win (which was Brackett's seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.6 points per game. As for Pettus, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
Brackett will square off against Granger at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Granger is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games. Pettus does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
