Baseball Recap: Seton Catholic Takes a Loss

Seton Catholic lost against Muncie Burris back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cardinals fell just short of the Owls by a score of 6-5.

Tyson Tremain was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Tremain was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Tremain wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Collin Murray, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Murray has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Zack Robinson was another, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

Seton Catholic has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. Muncie Burris' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Seton Catholic is set to square off against their familiar foe Anderson Prep Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Cardinals their first taste of in-conference action this season. Meanwhile, Muncie Burris will challenge rival University at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
