Softball Recap: Indio Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Indio had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They skirted past the Chino Cowboys 15-13. Winning may never get old, but the Rajahs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Jaeda Diaz was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Audra Higgins, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Indio kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive contests.

Indio's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-11. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Chino, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-15.

Coming up, Indio will challenge Northview at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Rajahs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. Chino does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
