Football Recap: Red Cloud Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Red Cloud couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were dealt a 35-0 defeat at the hands of the Southwest Roughriders on Friday. The Warriors were red-hot offensively heading into the contest (they scored no less than 31 points in the five matchups prior), but the Roughriders' defense proved too tough.

Josh Heldt threw for 38 yards on three of five attempts. Mason Bolin was his top target, picking up 47 receiving yards. On the ground, Connor Rust rushed for 72 yards.

A big part of Southwest's win came down to the chemistry between Houston Billeter and his top target Deric Kelley. Billeter threw for 211 yards and two TDs while Kelley picked up 103 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Having lost for the first time this season, Red Cloud fell to 10-1. As for Southwest, they pushed their record up to 11-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Red Cloud does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southwest, they will take on Garden County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Roughriders' defense better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 64.4 points per game this season.
