Baseball Recap: Wilson Takes a Loss

Wilson extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping their season record down to 0-3 in the process. They came up short against the Albion Purple Eagles, falling 15-5. The Lakemen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Purple Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Wilson saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Howard, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

As for Albion, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-5. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

On Albion's side, Drew Pritchard spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Gavin Boyce was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Boyce, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Albion will square off against Newfane at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Wilson will be paying especially close attention to the Purple Eagles' match: after the Purple Eagles face off against the Panthers, they'll take on Wilson again at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
