Recap: Gilbert Tigers vs. Pinnacle Pioneers
The Gilbert Tigers put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past Pinnacle with points to spare, taking the game 61-44. This was payback for Gilbert, who suffered a 42-31 loss the last time these two teams met.
Gilbert's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aspen McClees, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. The match was McClees' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Caia Campbell was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with 6 assists and 3 steals.
Defeat or not, Pinnacle got some senior leadership from Mia Singstock who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and Mackenzie Murphy who scored 11 points. Singstock scored a full 31.8% of Pinnacle's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Heather Stedman, who scored 9 points.
Gilbert's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Pinnacle, their loss dropped their record down to 4-1.
Gilbert will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Pinnacle at 7:00 p.m. on November 28th. Pinnacle is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.2 points per game. As for they, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Gilbert at 7:00 p.m. Gilbert has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 219 points over their last three contests.
