Basketball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Lincoln North Star's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Lincoln North Star and Millard South, and Lincoln North Star kept the tradition alive. The Lincoln North Star Navigators took down the Millard South Patriots 49-30 on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Navigators also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lincoln North Star to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ani Leu, who went 7-for-11 on her way to 17 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Leu has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sarah Gatwech, who shot 50% from the field en route to 16 points.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aubrey Carder, who posted nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Abbi Durow was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Lincoln North Star has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Millard South's loss dropped their record down to 14-9.

Lincoln North Star wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 72-20 win against Omaha Northwest on the 26th. As for Millard South, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-49 victory against Lincoln East on the 26th.
