Softball Recap: Boise Beats Eagle for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Boise took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Eagle, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Boise had just enough and edged out Eagle 4-3 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Brave have posted since March 11, 2024.

Boise got a great performance from Presley Mitchell-Burleson as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, Mitchell-Burleson gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Boise's win was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Lilly Hopstad, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

The victory (which was Boise's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.8 runs. As for Eagle, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Boise will welcome Mountain View at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eagle, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Wood River at 3:00 p.m. Eagle is facing Wood River at the right time seeing as Wood River is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
