Softball Recap: Delta Eagles vs. Shelbyville Golden Bears
Delta extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 2-6 in the process. They lost 18-3 to the Shelbyville Golden Bears. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 8-6 to the Golden Bears when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Shelbyville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-5. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games.
For Shelbyville's part, Anna Shearer was a standout: she fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Shearer has posted over her last 11 matches. Destiney Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.
