Softball Recap: Evangelical Christian Comes Up Short

Evangelical Christian has relied on a stalwart pitcher averaging 3.43 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Friday. They came up short against the North Fort Myers Red Knights, falling 18-8. That makes it the first time this season the Sentinels have let down their home crowd.

Karsyn Mootz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Keaunna Green, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Evangelical Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 12-2. As for North Fort Myers, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Looking ahead, Evangelical Christian will head out on the road to square off against LaBelle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Fort Myers, they will host Riverdale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Fort Myers' pitchers better be ready for this one: Riverdale has averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season.
