Recap: Frontier Cougars vs. Buckeye Trail Warriors
The Frontier Cougars posted their closest win yet this season on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged Buckeye Trail out 44-42. Given Frontier's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Buckeye Trail is ranked 684th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Morgan Haught, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Dye, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Frontier's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Buckeye Trail, they bumped their record down to 5-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frontier won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bridgeport at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. As for Buckeye Trail, they will head out on the road to take on Cambridge at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
