Basketball Recap: Rolesville Starts Season with Defeat on the Road + How To Watch

Rolesville had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They took a blow against the Heritage Huskies on Friday, falling 81-46. The Rams lost against the Huskies in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 60-51 score last time.

Rolesville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jacob Clemons, who posted 17 points. Life Lynch was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Leading Heritage to victory were Christian Hargett and Ryder Strand. Hargett shot 80% from the field on his way to 20 points, while Strand went 9-for-17 to rack up 20 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Strand is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last seven games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Ben Heynen, who shot 71% from the field en route to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Looking ahead, Rolesville will venture away from home to face off against Franklinton at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Heritage, they will host Sanderson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
