Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ashford). They strolled past the Long Rebels with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 58-39. The win was all the more spectacular given the Yellowjackets' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 320th, while the Rebels are ranked 149th).

Ashford's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-8. As for Long, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-3 record.

Ashford will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Cottonwood at 7:30 p.m. Cottonwood will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Ashford surely won't give up without a fight. As for Long, they are taking a road trip to square off against Dale County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
