Softball Recap: Lampeter-Strasburg Has No Trouble Against Donegal

Lampeter-Strasburg had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Donegal on Monday. The Lampeter-Strasburg Pioneers were the clear victor by a 12-6 margin over the Donegal Indians. The Pioneers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Indians, too.

Natalie Hill was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. Hill was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI.

In other batting news, Mackenzie Mack was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Lily Kuhns, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Lampeter-Strasburg's record is now 2-0. As for Donegal, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Lampeter-Strasburg will take on Berks Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Donegal, they will square off against Ephrata at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
