Volleyball Recap: Avon Lake Comes Up Short

Avon Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bard Early College Raptors.

Avon Lake wouldn't go down easily and took Bard Early College into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18, 24-26, 20-25, 15-11.

Avon Lake's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Bard Early College, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-2.

Coming up, Avon Lake will take on Steele at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Bard Early College, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against John Marshall on the 30th.
