Baseball Recap: Mountain Crest Mustangs vs. Dixie Flyers
Mountain Crest was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Dixie Flyers. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 17-2 victory the Flyers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Mountain Crest got a great performance from Rylin Needham as he struck out ten batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Needham has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zyan Foulger, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Dawson Simper also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
The win made it two in a row for Mountain Crest and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Dixie, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2.
