Baseball Game Preview: John Marshall Rockets vs. Byron Bears

The John Marshall Rockets will head out to square off against the Byron Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Byron took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on John Marshall, who comes in off a win.

John Marshall barely beat Faribault the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rockets blew past the Falcons 13-2 on Tuesday. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for the Rockets this season.

John Marshall got a massive performance out of Caden Endle, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those four runs gave Endle a new career-high. Mark Muenkel was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Byron's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of Lourdes by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bears have suffered since May 10, 2024.

The win snapped John Marshall's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-10 record. As for Byron, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

John Marshall beat Byron 7-3 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
