Recap: Liberty Leopards vs. LaBrae Vikings
The Liberty Leopards suffered their biggest loss since December 7, 2023 on Monday. They took a serious blow against LaBrae, falling 56-23. While losing is never fun, Liberty can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 756th, while LaBrae is ranked 296th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead LaBrae to victory, but perhaps none more so than Riley Rowe, who scored four points along with ten rebounds and seven assists. Rowe has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ella Kuszmaul, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for LaBrae, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty will face off against Champion at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Champion will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. As for LaBrae, they will head out on the road to face off against Memorial at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Memorial is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.
