Baseball Game Preview: Volunteer Falcons vs. Greeneville Greene Devils

Volunteer hasn't had much luck against Greeneville recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Falcons will head out to challenge the Greene Devils at 6:00 p.m. Volunteer has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Volunteer came up short against Unicoi County on Tuesday, falling 15-3.

Volunteer saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryson Russell, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Greeneville waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They skirted past the Buccaneers 2-0. The Greene Devils' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three games.

Volunteer's defeat dropped their record down to 2-23. As for Greeneville, their win bumped their record up to 29-8.

Volunteer couldn't quite get it done against Greeneville in their previous matchup on April 7th as they fell 6-1. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
