Volleyball Recap: St. Cloud Comes Up Short

If St. Cloud was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Forest Lake Academy last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs lost 3-0 to the Freedom Patriots on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-17, 25-16.

Enrique Soto paced St. Cloud's offense, picking up 12 kills. Soto got some help from Eddier Rodriguez and his 19 assists.

Freedom can attribute much of their success to Jan Paul Matos, who had eight digs and two aces. That's the most aces Matos has posted since back in March.

St. Cloud now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Freedom, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

St. Cloud has already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Poinciana on the 3rd. As for Freedom, they will square off against West Port at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
