On Thursday James Donofrio struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk). The performance marked the fewest hits Donofrio has had since back in March. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his seventh in a row with less than two walks. This year, he has an ERA of 2.30 over 24.3 innings pitched.

Looking ahead, Donofrio and John Paul II Catholic will take on Arendell Parrott Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sadly, Donofrio's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Saints' seven-game streak of wins at home.
