Basketball Game Preview: Brookfield Central Lancers vs. Brookfield East Spartans

Brookfield Central hasn't had much luck against Brookfield East recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Brookfield Central Lancers will head out to challenge the Brookfield East Spartans at 6:00 p.m.

Brookfield Central is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 60-54 heartbreaker at the hands of Hamilton. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Chargers are ranked 104th).

Meanwhile, Brookfield East entered their tilt with Divine Savior Holy Angels on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 56-46 win over Divine Savior Holy Angels.

Brookfield East has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.1 points per game. As for Brookfield Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

Brookfield Central was dealt a bruising 71-40 loss at the hands of Brookfield East in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Brookfield Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
