Softball Preview: Germantown Mavericks vs. Meridian Wildcats        
        
		
            
 The Germantown Mavericks will head out on the road to  take on  the Meridian Wildcats at 6:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Germantown knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  team has finished with flashy  run totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Meridian likes a good challenge.
 Germantown is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout  on Wednesday, just like they did against Clinton (and have done all season long). Germantown blew past Clinton 10-0.
  Ella Duhon was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with a  home run, five  RBI,  and a  stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of  Presley Merkich, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-4.
 Meanwhile, Meridian was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight  loss. They suffered a  rough 12-0 defeat at the hands of Northwest Rankin.
 Germantown has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won nine of their last ten contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record  this season. As for Meridian, they now  have a losing record at 11-12.
 Wednesday's   game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Germantown has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .466. However, it's not like Meridian struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .476. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Everything went Germantown's way against Meridian in their previous matchup  back in February as Germantown made off with  a  15-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Germantown since the  squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
