Softball Game Preview: Glenbard East Rams vs. West Aurora Blackhawks

Glenbard East hasn't had much luck against West Aurora recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Rams will take on the Blackhawks at 4:30 p.m. Glenbard East's pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so West Aurora's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

West Aurora will be up against a hot Glenbard East squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Rams came out on top against Elmwood Park by a score of 3-0 on Tuesday. The Rams' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three games.

The result came thanks to Claire Bolda's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, West Aurora got the win against Streamwood on Tuesday by a conclusive 19-5. The Blackhawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Glenbard East pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for West Aurora, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.

Glenbard East might still be hurting after the 16-1 loss they got from West Aurora when the teams last played back in May of 2019. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
