Soccer Preview: Shelby vs. Burns
On Wednesday Shelby will have to hit the road after five straight games at home. They will venture away from home to square off against the Burns Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m.
Shelby's offense might be in the hot seat on Wednesday considering what happened against Thomas Jefferson on Monday. They came up short against the Gryphons, falling 5-0. The Golden Lions haven't had much luck with the Gryphons recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, Burns had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They never let the Warriors onto the board and left with an 8-0 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won six games by more than three goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Shelby now has a losing record at 4-5-2. As for Burns, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which somehow still isn't as good as their 6-1-1 record this season.
