Football Recap: Pensacola Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Pensacola took on Booker T. Washington on Friday. The Tigers fell 30-20 to the Wildcats. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Despite the loss, Pensacola still got an impressive performance from Jamarcuz Fountain, who rushed for 163 yards and one score on only 14 carries, and also threw for 147 yards on 15 of 22 attempts. Another player making a difference was Courtney George, who gained 110 total yards and a touchdown.

It was another big night for Da'Sean Bohanan, who rushed for 137 yards and one touchdown on only 15 carries for Booker T. Washington. Tanner Rogers was another key player, rushing for 59 yards and one TD on only seven carries.

This is the second loss in a row for Pensacola and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Booker T. Washington, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Pensacola is taking a road trip to square off against Escambia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gators will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for Booker T. Washington, they will host Pine Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 25.6 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
