Africentric Early College came tearing into Friday's matchup with 14 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down the Eastmoor Academy Warriors 51-32. The Nubians pushed the score to 40-19 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors cut but never quite recovered from.

Eastmoor Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was King Moody, who posted nine points. Gabe Wooden was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

Africentric Early College's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-1. As for Eastmoor Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Africentric Early College will square off against Walnut Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Walnut Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Africentric Early College likes a good challenge. Eastmoor Academy has already played their next contest, a 75-57 win against Whitehall-Yearling on the 25th.
