Baseball Recap: Yellow Medicine East Takes a Loss

Yellow Medicine East dropped their record down to 10-5 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Canby Lancers by a score of 4-3. Sting fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Lancers since on Tuesday.

As for Canby, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-6-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.33 runs across that stretch.

For Canby's part, Jace Rangaard made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. Rangaard has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. That run marked the first that he has scored this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cody Stoll, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cash Antony, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
