Basketball Recap: Bainbridge-Guilford's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After flying high against Gilbertsville-Mt. Upton two weeks ago, Bainbridge-Guilford came back down to earth. The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats fell to the Jefferson Central Jayhawks 52-47.

Despite the loss, Bainbridge-Guilford still got an impressive performance from Jayslin Henderson, who went 8 for 12 on her way to 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. Henderson has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Umbra, who posted eight points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

Even though they lost, Bainbridge-Guilford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in ten consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Bainbridge-Guilford's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.

Bainbridge-Guilford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 54-30 win against Unadilla Valley on the 10th. As for Jefferson Central, they will take on Margaretville Central at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
