Recap: Lakeview Charter Lions vs. Community Charter Titans
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Triumph Charter, the Lakeview Charter Lions were happy to have found some success on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Community Charter and snuck past 45-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Lakeview Charter has posted yet this season.
Despite the loss, Community Charter still got an impressive performance from Misael Davila, who scored 16 points. Davila continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jefferson Barahona was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Lakeview Charter's victory bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Community Charter, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeview Charter won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Canyon at 3:00 p.m. on January 19th. Canyon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lakeview Charter in California (Canyon is ranked 376th, while Lakeview Charter is ranked 1163rd). As for Community Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Bert Corona Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Bert Corona Charter comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
