Soccer Recap: Junction City vs. Marist
Junction City lost against Marist back in October of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Junction City Tigers came up short against the Marist Spartans, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon soccer rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Spartans are ranked 14th).
Junction City's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7-1. As for Marist, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Junction City will head out to take on Marshfield at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marist, they will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against North Bend at 5:00 p.m. Marist knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully North Bend likes a good challenge.
