Volleyball Recap: Woods Cross Falls Short Against Ranked Green Canyon

On Friday, Woods Cross faced Green Canyon in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Woods Cross Wildcats took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Green Canyon Wolves. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Khang Tran paced Woods Cross' offense, picking up nine kills. Tran got some help from Clayton Schmitt and his four assists.

Green Canyon found their leader in sophomore Griffin Blau, who had 15 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Blau has posted since back in April of 2024.

Woods Cross' loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Green Canyon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Woods Cross has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Juan Diego Catholic on the 7th. As for Green Canyon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Valor Christian on the 7th.
