Jasper proved they can win big last Friday (they won by six) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Hamilton Aggies 2-0. The victory was familiar territory for the Vikings, who have now won eight games in a row.

Jasper's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was America Montgomery, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Jasper's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hamilton, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.

Jasper and Hamilton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. Jasper (ranked 80th) will meet Tuscaloosa County (ranked ninth) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hamilton will face off against Curry at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday down 86 places (90 vs. 4).
