Baseball Game Preview: Wheeler Warriors vs. Tolman Tigers

The Wheeler Warriors will challenge the Tolman Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Wheeler is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Portsmouth Abbey on Wednesday. They lost 11-1 to the Ravens. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Ravens recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Wheeler saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Diaz, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Tolman faced Woonsocket in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Tigers came up short against the Villa Novans, falling 7-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

This is the second loss in a row for Tolman and nudges their season record down to 7-3. As for Wheeler, they now have a losing record of 4-5-1.
